Our mission.
To empower individuals and communities through educational, cultural and community initiatives: breaking barriers in education, health, and gender and social equality, preserving Nepal's culture, and building a stronger, more inclusive community.
Our story.
“We were inspired to create a nonprofit that would give back to our Nepali community after experiencing our own struggles in pursuit of a better life.” — Rajendra Shrestha, Founder
Our work in Nepal began before ARC for Nepal had a name, with support for schools such as Huwas Multiple Campus. Formally establishing ARC for Nepal as a U.S. 501(c)(3) in 2023 gave that giving a home, and a partner on the ground in Nepal: the Rajendra Anjana Foundation.
Today that work reaches 21 schools, 3,900 students helped with scholarships, and the 10 children who live at Samsara Ghar.
What we stand for.
Education Support. Access to the knowledge and skills students need to grow.
Social Support. Meeting the needs of people facing hardship, so communities are more inclusive and equal.
Community Building. Unity, understanding and collaboration that make communities stronger and more resilient.
Disaster Relief. Standing with communities in Nepal when floods and other disasters strike.
Cultural Preservation. Keeping Nepal's festivals, arts and traditions alive, in Nepal and in New Jersey. See Nepal Day →

One mission, two organizations.
ARC for Nepal runs cultural and community programs in New Jersey and leads all fundraising. Our sister organization in Nepal, the Rajendra Anjana Foundation, runs every program inside Nepal, from Samsara Ghar to school support.
Funds sent to Nepal go through the Rajendra Anjana Foundation, following the approval, banking and reporting requirements of Nepal's Social Welfare Council and other authorities.
